Kristen joined the staff in May of 2023 as Director of Church Administration.  She brings extensive experience from her career in the financial services industry to her new role, having held positions in regulatory compliance, internal audit, client services, and marketing.  She specializes in creating efficiencies and improving processes.  Kristen felt spirit-led to join the staff at Seaside UMC and feels honored to support this wonderful congregation and its many incredible, life-changing ministries.  Outside of work, Kristen likes to chase sandpipers along the ocean’s edge, especially at sunset.  She is a tea enthusiast and a big NBA and ND football fan.  If lost on an island alone she would want an endless supply of Lipton tea bags and the ability to listen to her music library.  She and her family moved to Ocean Isle Beach from Reading, PA, in 2021 and delight in living on this magnificent southern coast.  Kristen is loving life as a wife to Jim Hughes; Mom to two awesome kids: Khloe (20) and Kaiden (16); and Dog Mom to her sweet fur baby Brendon.  Kristen earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from Albright University and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Alvernia University.
